Our Speaker on Wednesday

We have a special treat on Wednesday with a talk entitled “My Great, Great Grandmother’s Trousseau”.
Our speaker, Liz, will bring a suitcase full of embroidered items and artifacts that would have been useful in the Victorian era. She hands the items round and also displays them on an airing horse.
This is an unusual chance to handle items that are generally locked behind glass in a museum, and to hear a personal account of how they were used.
I never got on well with history at school, but I find chances like this fascinating and I’m really looking forward to hearing all about the contents of the Victorian trousseau. I hope you are too!
