Dear Members,

On behalf of the committee and myself I am writing to you to let you know that despite the current Corvid 19 restrictions you are not forgotten.

I realize that many of you are confined to your present location and are facing many difficulties but we, at Butterflies, are always available via our telephone buddy link for a chat, information or help with shopping etc.

In addition to us the following support is available,

Age UK NS&W Dorset - Age UK North, South and West Dorset are coordinating requests for help with issues relating to loneliness and isolation, or support in accessing items such as food, cash or medication. Support is available to all residents within the Dorset Council area.

To request help, email them at: enquiries@ageuknswd.org.uk or call 01305 269444.

For people who do not have family, friends, or a support network that can help them, and are in the ‘shielded category’, the Dorset Council has set up a dedicated help line on: 01305 221000 which is open from 8am - 8pm 7 days a week. Or you can email: communityresponse@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk

If you are worried about a friend or relative who is unable to collect their prescription, a volunteer system has been set up to get medicines delivered.

The pharmacy can contact the person needing and ask if they can collect, if not a volunteer (bank already set up with all safe-guarding and guidelines in place) is contacted who will collect and deliver the prescription.  If you know a person needs a delivery please contact the local pharmacy.

For those who are helping others there is guidance and tips to stay safe while volunteering, formally or informally at:

Please stay safe and well,

We look forward to seeing or hearing from you later on.

Dick Foad

Chair of Butterflies.
