A further day out is being arranged for the end of July on the MV Freedom boat which will be moored at Lulworth and lunch can be taken on the boat.
Just over a week ago, on Monday, 20th May, Butterflies members enjoyed a trip to Minterne House and gardens, with a guided talk (not open to the public) and lunch. The day out was well received, and everyone felt it was a lovely time of year to see the Himalayan gardens in full bloom. Some photographs are above.
Other forthcoming events include gentle walks around Thorncombe Woods, a potential visit to Pallington Lakes (https://www.sculpturebythelakes.co.uk/) and Swanage on the steam train. Also, a summer tea party is being planned. More details will follow.
Dick Foad, Chair of Butterflies, said: “We are enjoying getting out in the weather this summer, and as it promises to be nice, we are planning a trip once a month over June, July, August and September and even hopefully even into October. We’ve just been to Minterne House and gardens and had a really nice day out. It raises the spirits of all of our members and their friends and families. Our trips are heavily subsidised and to book you can email firstname.lastname@example.org
Anyone who has had cancer at any time of their life, whether in remission or current, and their friends and/or families can attend our sessions at Dorchester Community Church is Liscombe Road, Poundbury, on a Wednesday afternoon from 2-4pm.
